Produced by Fariba Arab and directed by Nasrin Mohammadpour, the short film will compete with 19 other titles at the main section of the South Korean event.
Being filmed in Mashhad, northeast of Iran, over the course of seven days, the short follows Maryam who is thinking of a big decision and intends to act and bear the consequences.
Like other films by Mohammadpour, ‘Left-Handed’ is about women and society. The screenplay of the work has already won two awards at domestic festivals.
The Seoul International Women's Film Festival is one of the largest and most prestigious women's film festivals at the international level, which showcases the works of female filmmakers from all over the world in competitive and non-competitive sections.
The 24th edition of the event will be held on August 25-September 1, 2022.
